I started my night grabbing a drink with some co-workers/old timer old time friends. After leaving no-libs Cantina, Dos Segundos, we head to the Piazza to finish watching the game. You could hear the crowd roaring from blocks away. We turned the corner and stumbled upon all of this.

As soon as the game ended, I biked home, grabbed my camera and hopped in my car towards City Hall. The police were more than prepared this year, which I'm sure you've heard . There weren't any attempts to climb the poles, but a large crowd still managed to gather around Broad and Walnut streets.
Above Robinson luggage, I kept watching a lone cameraman that had set up wayy earlier to capture everything safely behind a wall of glass, while we all got pummeled around by over-anxious stick happy cops. I also noticed the police force had their own photographer and videographer. Maybe to teach future police how to deal w/ riots.
Last year, I don't think the horse brigade was brought in until much later in the evening, but when I arrived at City Hall last night, they were ready and waiting.

I didn't see any cars flipped or anything on fire. There were a couple girls that were screaming when they were thrown up and forced to crowd surf, but other than that and some rough housing the riot was kept under control. I did see one guy get arrested for lighting off fire-works, and then another for smoking a blunt in public. I felt bad, because the blunt smoker had come out of the safety in numbers of the crowd saying, "don't push the shorty" when the police had shoved me around a bit, and then he got arrested.
After getting pushed around a bit, I decided to call it a night and head home. I imagine the preparations for a potential 2nd World Series win are already in effect. If people want to riot this year, they're going to have to get creative.
